Family  EP 2024

The second Jalgany EP is a collection of five songs that talk about family. They are deeply personal stories from Nola about her brother, her mother, her aunts and uncles and her grandparents. They are songs about love, loss, trauma, survival and strength in Aboriginal culture. They are also stories about the long and winding road that is the life we all live. These stories were written and recorded to be shared with your own families and friends.

Red Dust Salt Water

Red Dust Salt Water  EP 2021

A whole lot of country lies between the desert drone of Alice Springs and the crashing waves of Salt Water. It's all home for Nola Lauch, a Kirrae Wurrong-Bundjalung singer-songwriter with bonds of belonging in Victoria's Mornington Peninsula region and the central desert. Hence the wide embrace of her calling card Red Dust Salt Water, a debut EP of emotionally charged acoustic-electric rock by her band, Jalgany.

Koori Girl

Koori Girl

Koori Girl is the very first song written by Jalgany front woman Nola Lauch who is Kirrae Wurrong on her grandmother’s side and Bundjalung on her grandfather’s side. The song is about recognising her Aboriginal heritage whilst living in a Western world and finding her place in it.

Salt Water

Salt Water

Nola's ancestral grandparents Snowball and Nellie lived by the sea, as does Nola. The ocean brings much joy to this family’s life and runs deep through their culture. The sea cleanses the soul, the sand and building sand castles brings family together, keeps them connected and centres their energy in joy.

Alice Springs

Alice Springs

A driving desert rocker that rings with the joy of healing and freedom. Nola says "Alice Springs is a beautiful place where my beautiful foster son comes from. He came to me when he was 15 years old. This song is about healing scars and being part of such a beautiful country."
